Knorex Exhibiting at Media Exploits 2012, Booth 19, Singapore

We will be exhibiting at Booth 19 at the Media Exploits 2012 industry seminar and networking event organized by Exploit Technologies, the tech transfer office of A*STAR.

Media Exploits 2012 will see more than 40 companies introducing technologies in 4 key segments covering areas such as mobile applications, analytics, media processing, 3D graphics, augmented reality and platforms. One of our partners, Star Publications Chief Operations Officer Ms. Wong Siah Ping will also be sharing their strategy on how they went about in "Re-Innovate the Mass Media for the Digital Age". We have also been invited, along side several other entrepreneurs to share our Go-To-Market strategy and experience.

The event will be held on the 1st November 2012 from 1pm to 6pm at the Matrix Building, Level 4 of Biopolis.

Knorex Nominated for ASEAN ICT Award 2012

Following our exciting journey, we are exhilarated to announce that we have been nominated for the ASEAN ICT Award 2012 under the Digital Content category for our augmented reality product Knorex ARise™. The final judging for the submission will be held on 1st and 2nd October 2012 at Bagan, Myanmar with the award ceremony to be held later on 16 November 2012 in Cebu, the Philippines

Knorex Clinches Silver in SiTF Awards 2012

Knorex ARise™ was announced as the first-runner up in the Digital Media category of the Singapore infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF) Awards 2012. The award ceremony was held at the SiTF 30th Anniversary Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony on 30 August 2012, at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Centre, with over 700 industry players attending the event.

International IT experts select best mobile apps for UN-based World Summit Award Mobile

Singapore, 31 August 2012 — They guide wheelchair users to the next elevator, track earthquake victims, monitor elections, or provide cash transfer opportunities for unbanked migrant workers. Mobile apps have become a lot more than fancy gimmicks. But what is the world's best when it comes to mobile content? This year, Singapore's Knorex ARise™ has been nominated for the World Summit Award and will compete for its place among the world's best mobile content.

Being one of the apps that made it through the national pre-selection process Knorex ARise™ settled the race in the category Digital Content and may soon rock the international stage.

Knorex ARise™ enhances print or physical media (ads or editorial contents) with interactive contents and enables engagements and interactive experience on printed materials or physical media/contents by delivering dynamic content or updates right to the viewers where and when they want it. Viewers will now be able to have instant access to various kinds of call-to-action, for instance, to register for a contest, indicate their willingness to attend test drive for a car, check out a coupon and the restaurants, view gallery or additional multimedia on a particular news article etc. The possibility is just immense.

International Jury Decides

In September, an international jury of renowned IT experts and industry leaders will evaluate the nominated product. Jury members come from all continents and have backgrounds in the creative industries, telecommunication, advertising, journalism and research, as well as in teaching. The jury also includes representatives of international organisations in the ICT-for-development field.

"Consequently, it is not a product's commercial success that matters most for the jury", emphasizes Peter A. Bruck, Chairman of the WSA Board. According to Bruck, the Grand Jury will judge the value of the content as well as the product's design and its technical realisation. Furthermore, each nominee's contribution to bridging the digital divide will play a central role for the jury.

"WSA-mobile's goal is to find out what works in different markets and in different parts of the world and what really makes a difference for the people in remote villages and global megacities. We want to show to decision makers what can be done to foster mobile’s potential to create a true information society", states Bruck.

On Top of the Mobile World

For Singapore's producers, the WSA-mobile is a chance to raise global awareness for their products and enter the international stage. Those projects that will come out on top of the Jury's decision will be invited to the WSA-mobile Winner's Events taking place 3rd to 5th February 2013 in Abu Dhabi. The event will host an exhibition, offering a platform for the awardees to present their services and projects to potential partners and investors. Furthermore, the event will include a conference attended by renowned experts, opinion leaders and government representatives, turning Abu Dhabi in the hot spot of the mobile world.

Knorex ARise is an end-to-end augmented reality platform that transforms ads or editorial contents found in the printed materials or physical media such as newspapers, magazines, posters, CD/DVD cover, or even billboard into interactive experiences for the viewers.

The contents are brought to 'life' instantaneously when the viewers hover their smart mobile devices over an ad, image or article. The viewers are presented with overlay of engaging elements such as gallery, multimedia (audio and video), social media, forms, location maps, 3D models, banners and more.
