Knorex Partners with The Star, Malaysia's Largest English Daily on Semantic Tagging of Contents

Readers are spending more time in searching for and bookmarking news articles rather than reading them. There is a pressing need to develop more effective tools and systems to take the tedium out of this search and bring relevant news to readers.

Kuala Lumpur, 24th February 2011 — Knorex and Star Publications (Malaysia) Berhad, an early adopter of innovative technologies in the media space, have formed a strategic partnership to apply semantic technology to its workflow and contents that appear in The Star Online (http://thestar.com.my).

The aim of this partnership is to improve the delivery and discoverability of relevant content to the TheStar's readers while enhancing the level of automation in TheStar's existing workflow.

Several new applications and a number of interesting features are expected to be rolled out in stages. These features enable the readers to easily follow the latest development of companies and personalities in the news, and be notified of new developments when they occurlatest news when it occurs.

In addition, existing scattered but related information will be integrated to provide a reader with unified access to all the relevant information within a single location or story page. Such integration makes it convenient and easy for readers to locate information while simultaneously enabling further discovery of new and related material.
